SYMPTOMS

After applied GI RU 19.10, the following I/O error occurred on ASM instance.

==From alert log of ASM instance==

WARNING: Write Failed. group:1 disk:0 AU:1 offset:1044480 size:4096
path:AFD:***_ASM_0000
incarnation:0xf0fa7e97 asynchronous result:'I/O error'

IO elapsed time: 0 usec Time waited on I/O: 0 usec
WARNING: Hbeat write to PST disk 0.4042948247 in group 1 failed. [2]

And multipath errors were logged in OS messages log.

kernel: device-mapper: multipath: Failing path 8:32.
kernel: blk_update_request: I/O error, dev xxx, sector 198197280

This issue did not occur when applied GI RELEASE UPDATE 19.9.


 

CHANGES

 Applied GI RU 19.10.

CAUSE

This issue was researched in Bug 32475692.
Bug 32475692 has been closed as a duplicate of Bug:32437246.

SOLUTION

Please apply fix for Bug:32437246.
